Live & Learn Environmental Education (Live & Learn) on behalf of Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) for the Better Options for Lymphatic Filariasis Treatment (BOLT) study is seeking to recruit a Project Assistant to bebased in Suva, Fiji.
Live & Learn is a local non- government organisation aiming to reduce poverty and foster greater understanding and action towards a sustainable future through education, community mobilisation and supportive partnerships.
The Better Options for Lymphatic Filariasis (BOLT) study is a community-based research project evaluating community acceptability, safety and efficacy of medications for neglected tropical diseases – lymphatic filariasis (LF, waqaqa), scabies (karo karo) and intestinal worms (ukomu). The project is a collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI), Australia. The successful candidate will be based in Suva and support the mobile study team who will be visiting communities in Rotuma and Taveuni.
MCRI is the largest child health research institute in Australia and one of the top two most impactful child and adolescent health research institutes in the world. MCRI supports the MoHMS to improve child and adolescent health outcomes in Fiji through research and evidence-based programs. Live & Learn Environmental Education and MCRI work together guided by the following principles: mutual respect and trust, adaptability, transparency, and accountability.
