The Revitalizing Informal Settlements and their Environments (RISE) project was overseen initially by Live & Learn Fiji following an agreement with Monash Sustainable Development Institute (MSDI), to harness the strengths and advantage of the institution to address the pressing challenges facing urban informal settlement dwellers in Fiji.

This involved using Live & Learn Fiji’s experience in community development and WASH as well as the Organisations qualified staff and operational presence in Suva.

The Partnership saw five activities being implemented within the Project timeframe, namely:

  • Construction of wet pods and civil works in the selected demonstration site
  • In country community mobilization and support of ongoing assessment activities
  • roll our community design workshops
  • stakeholder engagement across Government and other statutory bodies
