Response to Tropical Cyclone Harold which struck Fiji on the 8th of April 2020. Live & Learn Fiji responded between August to December to the affected communities, carrying out:

  • Provision of lifesaving shelter assistance
  • Providing Build Back Stronger awareness to households in the community
  • Mitigating protection and gender-based violence risk in shelter assistance.

Through the Project, a total of 3 Provinces with 161 Villages and settlements covered

Through CERF funding, IOM had initially proposed that through Live & Learn (the implementing partner), to reach 464 of these 2,921 affected family households in the most affected areas of Western (Vatulele) and Central (Tailevu) divisions with lifesaving shelter assistance.

Following implementation, the Project exceeded expectations and were able to assist:

  • 262 households with shelter kits
  • 464 households with Build Back Stronger training
