Work carried out during this Project saw Live & Learn Fiji working closely with civil society organisations, communities and families to be better prepared for and able to respond to outbreaks of COVID-19 and be able to mitigate the risk of transmission and the socio economic impact of the virus. Areas focused on were Health, WASH and Food security.
A total of three handwashing stations and 477 school children (Male: 233; Female: 244) and 27 teachers (Male: 10; Female: 15) were reached with hygiene promotion and IEC materials.
A food security and livelihood kit containing gardening tools, seed packs and watering cans, were also distributed to 18 schools (reaching 3,626 male and 3,287 female students); with a total of 336 teachers reached (120 male and 216 female teachers). These schools also developed their own demonstration plots which the school took over.
