The Project worked closely with various stakeholders to focus on strengthening the sub national communications arrangements and coordination mechanism of Government and civil society at district level, as well as build the capacity of the Fiji Council of Social services (FCOSS), District Council of Social service (DCOSS) and the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO). It also worked closely with civil society organisations to set up district level emergency operation centers.
The communities assisted through EOC Training and they were:
- Levuka – Ovalau
- Vunidawa – Naitasiri
- Rotuma
- Taveuni
- Labasa &
- Seaqaqa and
- also supported the National Disaster Risk Management Office (NDRMO) with 9 computers along with prepositioned PPEs
